Local Mom Organizes Bake Sale to Help Kids

A bake sale on Nov. 2 will help keep the holiday spirit alive for kids in need.

One local mom is doing her best to make sure all local children have a happy holiday season.

Southold resident Stephanie Oliver has organized a bake sale to benefit North Fork Head Start.

The bake sale will be held on Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the IGA in Southold.

"This time of year is hard on many families. With the holidays upon us many community members find themselves struggling to make ends meet," she said. "Unfortunately for many low income families, financial hardships are year round."

The bake sale was organized to help support the children in the local community and give them a better holiday season. All donations will directly benefit the children of the North Fork Head Start.

"Everyone deserves a happy and healthy holiday season," Oliver said.

And she added that helping others helps spread the holiday spirit close to home. "It is wonderful to be able to help our community and also to know that every cent raised will benefit the children to help keep the magic of Christmas alive."
