New Sushi Restaurant To Open On Front Street

Greenport residents hankering for a Dragon Lady roll or some steak hibachi soon won't have to drive for miles to satisfy their cravings.

Jimmy Lin, owner of the New China Restaurant on Front Street in the village will open a new sushi and steak hibachi restaurant, Sakura, just  a few doors down on Front Street next week.

The plan, Lin said, is to open on April 28 or 29. Lin, who also owns Sakura in Riverhead, plans to celebrate the opening with a ten-percent off special.

The restaurant, he said, will feature a wide range of sushi rolls, sashimi, tempura, teriyaki, salads, and a full range of hibachi dinners and specials. 

Lin has applied for a liquor license and said hopefully, cocktails will be on the menu by summer.

Lin said he's excited to open his new location.
