Southold Town Police charge a Coram man for drug possession and possible stolen property on Feb. 23.
The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions. Thomas Hynes, 18, of Coram was charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana on Feb. 23 at 11:24 p.m. in Mattituck, after police stopped him for a traffic violation on Route 25, police said. The officer on the scene observed marijuana in the vehicle, and after further investigation, various prescription medications were also located in vehicle along with several potentially stolen items, police said. EAST HAMPTON • East Hampton Town police say they caught a burglar in the act and apprehended him in the early morning hours on Jan. 18. Police responded to a residential burglar alarm at 27 Atlantic St. in East Hampton at about 5:15 a.m. Detective Lt. Chris Anderson said Carlos A. Montaleza-Arpi, who gave his address as two doors down at 29 Atlantic Street, had tripped the alarm and tried to disable it. He said when police arrived, they found the homeowner's car in the driveway with a broken window and then discovered a broken window on the first-floor. SOUTHAMPTON • David J. Ramunno, 50, of Sag Harbor, was arrested Jan. 12 at 2:20 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, as well as moving from lane unsafely, a traffic violation. Southampton Town police said Ramunno was pulled over near Sagg Road and Mount Misery Drive in unincorporated Sag Harbor for failing to maintain his lane. According to the arrest report, Ramunno had crack cocaine on him. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters in Hampton Bays for arraignment. • Rebecca Darlene Drew, 28, of East Hampton, was arrested Jan. 13 at 4 p.m. and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. RIVERHEAD • Vanessa Olivia Shaw, 48, of Riverhead, was arrested Jan. 6 on Vail Avenue in Riverside and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and menacing in the second degree, both felonies. Police said a victim reported Shaw came up to him with a box cutter. • Eduardo Cruz, 23, of Flanders, was arrested Jan. 6 at 10:41 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a felony, as well as driving without a seat belt, a traffic infraction. Southold Town Police charge a New Suffolk man with drug possession on a suspended license stop.
The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions. Jared Martin, 21, of New Suffolk was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Thursday at 9:52 a.m. after Southold Town Police stopped him on Elijahs Lane in Mattituck for driving a 1989 GMC suburban with a suspended license, police said. Police found a pill that was later identified as a controlled substance and an amount of marijuana in the vehicle, police said. Martin was arrested and processed at police headquarters and later released on bail.

Southold Town Police charge Wading River man with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions. James Brewer, 23, of Wading River was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Tuesday at 7:47 p.m., after police stopped him for a traffic violation on Sound Avenue in Mattituck and found him to be in possession of a prescription medication that is a controlled substance, police said. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was processed and released on bail.
