Waterhouse Will Be Put to Death at 6 p.m.; Feds Deny Stay of Execution

Convicted murder Robert Waterhouse will undergo lethal injection as planned by the Florida State government at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Florida State Prison.

After a denial of a stay of execution from the Florida State Supreme Court and now the U.S. Supreme Court, convicted killer and former Greenport resident Robert Waterhouse will be put to death by lethal injection on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Florida State Prison as planned since Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed the order of execution — his first of the year — on Jan. 4. The U.S. Supreme Court announced the denial on Wednesday morning, according to a report from the Associated Press. Waterhouse, 65, was sentenced to life in 1967 for the 1966 rape-murder of 77-year-old Greenport resident Ella Carter. While out on lifetime parole in 1980, he raped and killed Deborah Kammerer in St. Petersburg, Fla., and was convicted of first-degree murder. …

Florida Governor signs death warrant for Robert Waterhouse, 44 years after gruesome Greenport murder.

Former North Fork resident Robert Waterhouse, who has spent decades on death row at Florida State Prison, is scheduled to die by lethal injection on Feb. 15 at 6 p.m., according to reports on sunshineslate.com and westorlandonews.com. Florida governor Rick Scott signed the order of execution — his first of the year — on Wednesday. Waterhouse, 65, was sentenced to life in 1967 for the 1966 rape-murder of 77-year-old Greenport resident Ella Carter.
