RIVERHEAD: • Suffolk County homicide detectives arrested Guillermo Alfonso Alvarado-Ajcuc, age 21, of Riverhead for the alleged murder of Mirian Garcia, 29. Arrested on Wednesday, Alvarado-Ajcuc was charged with one count of murder in the second degree. He was held overnight at the Riverhead Police Department and will be arraigned Thursday at Riverhead Town Court. • Tomas Jonas Lopez-Giron, 35, of Riverhead was charged with second-degree attempted assault, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon on May 9 at 8:40 a.m., after police responded to a report of a dispute at an East Marion jobsite, police said. MILLER PLACE-ROCKY POINT • Joseph Berendowski, 61, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested April 27 in Mt. Sinai and charged with petty larceny. Berendowski allegedly stole two bottles of wine from Bella Maria Restaurant in Coram. • Luanne McLaughlin, 52, of Rocky Point, was arrested April 24 in Rocky Point and charged with petty larceny. McLaughlin was allegedly in possession of a pair of shoes, pair of sunglasses and assorted jewelry which she took from Kohl’s in Rocky Point without paying. • Daniel Russ, 26, of Rocky Point, was arrested April 23 in Selden and charged with petty larceny. Miller Place-Rocky Point Kenneth Adamo, 32, of Ridge, was arrested April 16 in Rocky Point and charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon. Adamo was allegedly initially arrested while in possession of metal knuckles and a switchblade knife before Police later found a stun gun in his vehicle at the Seventh Precinct in Shirley during a search warrant. He was then charged with third degree criminal possession of a weapon. A 17-year-old girl, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested April 17 in Rocky Point and charged with petty larceny. MILLER PLACE-ROCKY POINT • Vincent Spielman, 27, of Coram, was arrested April 12 in Mt. Sinai and charged with first offense DWI. Spileman was operating his 2000 Chevrolet on Route 25A and School Street when he was arrested for DWI for driving over the speed limit and failing to maintain his lane, Police said. • Nicholas Provenzano, 25, of Rocky Point, was arrested April 12 in Lake Grove and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. RIVERHEAD • Riverhead resident Jesse Stewart, 37, was arrested for his alleged role in a Deer Park bank robbery on Monday. Stewart, of 2 Alders Gate, was arrested on charges of one count of robbery in the 3rd degree for his alleged connection to a bank robbery that took place in Deer Park on Monday. Stewart was allegedly the driver of the getaway car in the incident. Suffolk County Police arrested Bay Shore resident Jean Coughlin, 45, who allegedly entered a branch of Chase Bank, located at 615 Grand Boulevard, at 3:22 p.m. on Monday and handed the bank teller a handwritten note demanding cash and threatening violence; she was charged with one count of robbery in the 3rd degree in connection with the alleged robbery. SOUTHAMPTON Joseph L. Marciniak, 28, of East Hampton, was arrested March 1 at 1:19 a.m. and charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. Sag Harbor Village police said Marciniak hit a wooden guard rail on Long Wharf then parked across two spots. According to the arrest report, an officer approached Marciniak and noticed his breath smelled of an alcoholic beverage, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, he had an unsteady gait and his speech was slurred. SOUTHAMPTON After pleading guilty to second-degree murder in January, 22-year-old Pedro Jones, of Southampton, was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison on March 22. The Suffolk County district attorney's office said that Jones struck a 17-month-old he was babysitting so hard in the chest that the toddler, Roy Jones III, went into cardiac arrest. According to authorities, Jones said he punched the child to get him to calm down. Pedro Jones was not related to Roy Jones III, who was his then-girlfriend's son. ----- Susan F. RIVERHEAD • Armed with a baseball bat, 23-year-old Jasmin Camacho struck a car windshield on March 14 in Flanders, smashing it, while a baby and its parents were in the vehicle, according to police. Southampton Town police said the incident occurred on Brookhaven Road in Flanders at approximately 6 p.m. Camacho, along with her friend Sheena McCoy, 19, of Brookhaven, were arrested and detained at 8:03 p.m. Camacho, who is from Smithtown, was charged with child endangerment, criminal mischief in the third degree and false personation, all misdemeanors. • Brittney Grief, 20, of Rocky Point, was arrested early Tuesday morning after police said she was driving while intoxicated. WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS: • Southampton Town Police say residents nabbed a burglar in the act in the early morning hours of March 3, locking him in the bathroom of a Montauk Highway home in Westhampton. Police say the residents noticed a burglar in the home and managed to lock him in a bathroom inside the house. Specific details of the incident were not released by police and it is unclear if the residents were the owners of the home or if they were inside when the burglar entered.
