I wonder what will happen to the people that worked in the 7-11's now? Muneer and the staff at the…Read More Cutchogue store are always a pleasure to do business with. I feel terrible hearing what has happened to them. Many of the workers have their families here and their children go to school with our children. Amazing what greed will do to people like Mr. Baig. Such a shame.

Wasn't it Jamesport that refused to allow a senior center because of all the traffic?
Presumably,…Read More the Gabrielsen name will inspire everyone to walk to the place, thereby alleviating all the traffic. Or, did the Gabrielsen name perhaps have some other effect?
Open by September? Harbes and his other places will cut their hours to let more traffic through in pumpkin season?

I would caution these young entrepreneurs that the Liquor Authority of New York State substantially…Read More limits what you can sell as food at wineries. Further, people are not supposed to "fill up" as they sample the vino. They are supposed to move on an give their business to local eateries. You know, the ones that actually pay taxes.

Does anyone have photos of the General Wayne Inn or the Traveler buildings so I can at least create…Read More an oil painting to commemorate them before they are torn down? Perhaps we can hang the paintings in some of the wineries that replaced the old farmsteads that replaced the old Revolutionary trail...

Pat , you should have learned some humility from your grandparents. By starting your diatribe with…Read More reference to your citizenship and closing witha reference to immigrants ignores the terrible plight of current immigrants . When my grandparents came here they were immediately peermitted to work legally and could shortly become citizens. They were not so exploited by employers who know they are afraid to complain. And they could save and buy property. That is near impossible with current rules for title insurance and tracking where $$4 came from. They are stuck in the shadows and need help to have the chances our grandparents had.

Pat, your insecurities are showing. You brag about how nice you are and how much money you have.…Read More You might consider publishing the books you have in your head with the money that you've earned. Do you have a ghost writer or do you occasionally refer to yourself in the third person? Thank The Lord and those who have given so much that we can have the freedoms that we have. Best of luck.

Thank goodness Barb's is here, Joe sees to it that they have whatever local they can get their hands…Read More on and then gets some pretty amazing stuff, i.e. the peaches (simply great) and follows the harvest up the coast. Our guests go bonkers over their peaches that I serve roasted and thief melons, up to and including locals are superb. Barb and Joe, please keep it up!

So the fact that he gets to sell without having to do the hard work of growing the stuff like real…Read More farmers do in order to sell their produce is O.K. with you because your customers like the place? So if someone wants to open a B&B that has more rooms then you do, that pays less taxes then you and that does not bother getting approval to have the B&B in the first place is O.K as long as the customers like it? I imagine that it would be pretty easy to compete against you ? I am sure someone can offer a nicer place for far less money then you charge if they didn't have to bother following the same rules as you.

Eric:
Your attempt at humor was OK with the Pun on Stake, Steak... However your message is flawed as…Read More it appears your crystal ball is a bit foggy on the particulars of this transaction...

Paul, It's perfect for a relocated O'Malleys ! A different fare than Allure but not with the…Read More "pricey" vibe that J & R gave off. I would go. With a good breakfast menu with box takeout before getting on my boat to catch some fish.
I think the original J & R got stymied with code compliance that delayed opening til too late in season and then the recession hit before it had any established trade. good luck to any new owners as economy seems to be improving.

Pepi's was our favorite waterside restaurant and the cooking and staff were wonderful. It is really…Read More a shame; we drove by recently to see what was going on and although the area has been cleaned up a bit, the restaurant is still a sad sight to see. I do hope they can make it back.
