<p>Standing majestically atop a steep hill on Sunnyside Avenue, the Shelter Island Country Club (often referred to as Goat Hill) opened for business in 1901. Its public nine-hole golf course was established a few years before that in 1897.</p> <p>The historic club house has a laid-back atmosphere complete with a full bar inside and porches overlooking the course on both the east and north sides.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
