<p>Staffed by volunteers, the Greenport site of the Railroad Museum of Long Island is located steps from the Shelter Island Ferry and Hampton Jitney stop. The site was once a Long Island Railroad freight building, and now houses two cars, the Museum gift, shop, a large model railroad layout and historical railroad paraphernalia.</p> <p>The Museum hosts several special events, including the visit by Santa Claus each December. Santa arrives by train and visits with children.</p> <p>The museum is funded primarily through donations and membership fees.</p>
