Ornamental Plantings

<p>Jack Weiscott, aka the "grassman," owner of Ornamental Plantings in Southold, has been the nursery business since 1986. He moved to his Southold location in 2000 and has been busy expanding his family-owned and run business ever since. More than 90 percent of the nursery stock is perennials. The rest is a mixture of annuals and herbs, with a large selection of ornamental grasses, lavender and shrubs. Weiscott's expertise is reknown, and he often gives landscaping lectures on and off site .</p> <p>Gardeners will find old favorites such as roses, bayberry and butterfly bushes, and will have the opportunity to see some of the newest plants in the business. This year the nursery introduced "dwarf" butterfly bushes to its customers.</p>
