Mitchell Post 281 American Legion

The Shelter Island outpost of the American Legion is an active place for military veterans and civilian members of the community. The meeting hall is used for various functions and doubles as the Shelter Island Youth Center. The American Legion is the largest veterans service organization in the U.S. and sponsors youth programs, advocates patriotism and promotes continued devotion to members of the military.
