The Mashomack Preserve is a 2,039-acre wildlife preserve with walking trails. The preserve is home to ospreys, piping plover, least tern and rare plants and is made up of freshwater marshes, fields, woodlands and creeks. Individuals may check in at the visitor and information center to receive maps of the trails and then enjoy a day of nature watching. Walking the trails are free, but a small donation is suggested.
