David Perrin and his wife, Donna, opened Cedar House on Sound Bed and Breakfast on June 21, 2010, to a steady first summer. The Sound Avenue location in Mattituck is just a short jaunt to Peconic Bay, Long Island Sound and a plethora of wineries, farmstands and restaurants.

The lodging is rustic in ambiance but modern in amenities, with full private bathrooms, iPod docking stations, flat-screen TVs and free WiFi in each room. Mr. Perrin serves up a hot breakfast each morning, and guests can lounge in the spacious recreation room furnished with leather couches and a pool table. Mr. Perrin is related to the Scarola Winery family, and a small vineyard in the back of Cedar House will soon produce grapes for Scarola merlot.
