Taste North Fork, Spring 2014

Last year’s Veteran’s Day Taste North Fork Event was such a success they’ve decided to reprise the event with a spring version, tomorrow, Saturday, May 17.

The event is free from noon until 5 p.m. and will be held at the at the Greenport Information Center located at 72250 Route 25 (Main Road) Greenport.

To start things off visitors will be able to “Meet the Farmers” from noon until 3 p.m. from various farms across the North Fork including: North Fork Table Food Truck, Taste of the North Fork & cHarissa, Race Rock Oysters, Goodale Farms, Garden Fusion, Invincible Summer Farms, Southold School Garden, Browder’s Birds, Blue Duck Bakery

Also from noon until 5 p.m. there will be a  “Meet the Innkeepers” organized by the The North Fork Bed & Breakfast Association. Serving cookies, home made treats and beverages as we do at our BnB’s and to answer visitors questions as to what it is like to own, manage and stay in one of our Inns.

From 2-5 p.m., come and meet many of the winemakers for a wine tasting who have made the wines of the North Fork notable including Mattabella Vineyards’ Chris Tobin, Mark Tobin and Maryse Bransfield and Raphael Vineyards Joann DeAngelo.

From 3:30-5:00 “Meet the Chefs”:
3:00-4:00 Chef Deborah Rivera Pittorino from the Greenporter Hotel Serving Signature Blueberry Cocktails

3:30-4:00 Chef Eric Schumaacher from the Blue Inn & Restaurant, Scallop Pairing; from 4:00-4:30 Chef Rosa Ross from Scrimshaw, Vinaigrette & Salad Demo

There will also be passed Hors d’oeuvre by Chef Noah Schwartz of Noah’s Restaurant.

And the 'Signal Eight' Greenport Harbor Brewing Company's beer/fire truck will be serving from its taps
