Week Ahead: Free Movie Night, 'Alice@Wonderland', Nature Walk

Don't miss a minute of the fun this week on the North Fork.

Here's what's happening around the North Fork this week:

- Tuesdays with Tom: Take a trip to Riverhead's Indian Island County Park 
on Tuesday. Meet at Inlet Pond County Park in Greenport at 8 a.m. The trip is done annually so that Tom can do Christmas shopping after the walk. Dress warmly and expect the unexpected. Ducks, owls, sparrows are all possible sightings. The trip lasts about two hours. Call 631-275-3202 or email tdamiani3@optimum.net to register for the walk.

- On Tuesday, the Greenport Elementary School Drama Club students in grades 4 to 6 will be presenting "Alice@Wonderland," a play written by Jonathan Yukich, produced by special arrangement  with Pioneer Drama Services, Inc. Englewood, Co."  and directed by Robert Horn. There will be a 1 p.m. and a 7 p.m. performance in the school's auditorium on Tuesday. The show is a contemporary retelling of the classic 'Alice in Wonderland." Admission is a suggested donation of a non-perishable food item. 

- "Mind Your Own Business 2: Rock Your Business Resolutions and Set Your Intentions for a Successful '14": The workshop takes place Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Brecknock Hall in Greenport. Each MYOB workshop is customized by feedback from the current group of participants and includes: exploration of a business-boosting topic. A post-workshop email with resources curated with guests and their businesses in mind includes websites, articles, apps, case studies and more.  Q & A and group discussions. - A Free Family Movie Night takes place Friday at True Light Church, located at 31095 Main Road in Cutchogue. On the marquee is the new Veggietales Christmas movie, "Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas".  All ages welcome. Admission, food, prizes and giveaways. All free. A collection will be held to benefit the local John's Place homeless program. 

- "Eat, Drink and Be Sparkling" at Sparkling Pointe Vineyards & Winery every Saturday and Sunday during December from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  (Sparkling Pointe will be closed Sunday, Dec. 15). Sparkling Pointe will feature wine and food pairings, sparkling wine specials, and holiday gifts, including customized wine gift baskets.
