Stargazing, Free Movie Night, Dancing in the Park Top North Fork Agenda

Here's a rundown of things to do on the North Fork this week.

Here's a look at what's happening on the North Fork this week:

Dances in the Park: The weekly summer favorite continues at Mitchell Park in Greenport Monday night at 7:30 p.m. Monday night's band will bring country with a kick to the park as Six Gun performs.

Meteor Shower Stargazing and Wine at the Sherwood House Tasting Room in Jamesport: Astronomers from the Custer Observatory will be onhand with giant telescopes to guide guests through a tour of the night’s sky during the Perseid Meteor Shower on Monday at 8 p.m. Wine and shooting stars supplied, bring snacks and blankets. $25 per person includes a glass of wine. Auditions will be held for the North Fork Community Theatre's production of "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change," on Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the theater in Mattituck. Auditions will be held for six cast members: three women and three men, ages 20 to 80. Be prepared to sing at least 16 bars of music and read from a scene from the musical. For questions, contact the production team, at ilyypnc@nfct.com.

Southold Town Board: The town board meeting will be held this week on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Southold Town Hall meeting room.

Free Movie Night for Students: The North Fork Alliance in support of North Fork youth activities with funding assistance from the Southold Youth Bureau will host an outdoor movie nights for local youth on the front lawn of Mattituck High School on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Bring your own blanket or lawn chairs. No outside beverages are allowed. Wednesday's move is "The Avengers."
