Holiday Fairs, Olive and Balsamic Vinegar Talk, Bird Feeders On North Fork Agenda

Holiday happenings are popping up all over the North Fork this week.

Here's a look at what's coming up around the North Fork this week.

- San Simeon by the Sound's Holiday Fair takes place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Shop until you drop, with jewelry, bags and accessories, homemade crafts, uniforms, Mary Kay cosmetics and raffles all featured.

- Friday Night Dialogues at the Shelter Island Public Library presents "Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars" with experts from Vines & Branches. The event will take place in the the Library's Community Room. Products will be available for sale at a discount. A portion of the proceeds benefit the library.

- Head to the Downs Farm Preserve on Route 25 in Cutchogue on Saturday to make pinecone and string bird feeders that can be hung outside your house.   There is a $2 materials fee. - A Holiday Craft Fair takes place Saturday at the Shelter Island Library, in the Community Room, at 10 a.m. The fair will feature a wide selection of arts and crafts, jewelry and unique hand-crafted gifts, just in time for the holiday gift-giving season. To reserve a table, contact Mary Ellen McGayhey, at memphoto@optonline.net.

- The Orient Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, will hold its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Fair will feature Christmas decorations and one-of-a-kind gifts for the holiday season. Proceeds from the Fair will benefit the church’s homeless shelter and other ministries. Orient Congregational Church is located at 23045 Main Road in Orient, diagonally opposite the Civil War Monument, and just east of Village Lane.

- Also on Saturday, Dec. 7, the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce's Shop Local campaign will be centered on Mattituck's Santa Day and tree lighting.
