Deer Forum, Oyster Showcase, Civil War Series This Week on North Fork

Here's a look at what's happening on the North Fork during the week ahead.

- A meeting of the Greenport Village Board of Trustees takes place Monday at 6 p.m.

- A Civil War series kicks off at the Cutchogue New Suffolk Free Library Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday's discussion is focused on Women at War. Civil War expert Richard Radoccia will continue the lively lecture/DVD series on the era of the American Civil War. No registration required.

- The Southold Town board will hold a work session on Tuesday at 9 a.m., with a town board meeting to follow at 7:30 p.m.

- A public forum meant to address the escalating issues surrounding deer in Southold Town will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Southold Recreation Center on Peconic Lane.

- Sparkling Pointe Vineyards & Winery hosts a Local Oyster Showcase presents a Local Oyster Showcase presented by Blue Island Oyster Company and New York Oyster Week on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Guests can enjoy raw local oysters and prepared local oysters by local chefs from Noah's, The Frisky Oyster, Blue Canoe, and more. Live jazz music by The Alexander Clough Trio. Pre-sale tickets are on sale now; $35 for Signature Wine Club members and $40 for general admission. Tickets available here or by calling 631-765-0200.
