EVENT: Southold's Seventh-Annual Relay For Life

Peconic once again plays host to annual event for cancer research.

Weeks of purple ribbons around town have lead to this weekend's big charity event.

Southold Town’s seventh-annual Relay For Life, an overnight vigil to benefit the American Cancer Society, happens Saturday atin Peconic. Dinner for cancer survivors is served at 6 p.m.

Each year, the relay gets bigger, drawing scores of survivors and supporters to the park. Dozens of relay teams will stay up through the night to walk around the park's track to raise money for the American Cancer Society's efforts to find a cure.

A kick-off fundraiser for this year happened this past January at Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue For more information email southoldrelay@aol.com or go to www.cancer.org. Call 631-734-5050.
