For the third year in a row, has been awarded the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from HealthGrades, a company that develops and markets quality and safety ratings of health care providers, the hospital announced on Monday. Eastern Long Island Hospital is one of only 332 hospitals nationally to receive this designation in 2012 and one of three across Long Island.
“This is a distinction generated by patients for patients,” said CEO “Satisfied patients are essential to the business of caring.”
For Frank Adipietro, a pain management specialist and president of the hospital’s medical staff, the consecutive awards are a result of a team effort, and this most recent HealthGrades designation is just another way to help people decide where to go to the doctor.
“These are important health care choices,” he said. “We want our patients to know they are selecting the best medical care for themselves and their loved ones.”
Eastern Long Island Hospital representatives have also announced that this year’s annual summer gala will be held outdoors on Shelter Island overlooking Dering Harbor on Aug. 11 to raise money to benefit the
