Strawberries, SI 10K and the Blues: Way Too Much to Do This Weekend

Will you clone yourself to try and make it to all the events planned on the North Fork this weekend?

Just between the ever-popular Mattituck Lions Club Strawberry Festival and the revival of the Riverhead Blues Festival, there's an overload of cool things to do this Father's Day weekend on the North Fork.

1.The 58th Annual Mattituck Lions Club Strawberry Festival kicks off this weekend, beginning on Thursday night and running through Sunday. A favorite for generations, the fun-filled event sponsored by the brings together the community for a purpose — funds raised benefit local non-profit organizations.

Whether you're in top running shape or not, the Shelter Island 10K is one North Fork race not to be missed, happening this year on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. starting and ending at the Celebrity runners like Joan Benoit Samuelson and Bill Rodgers will once again be pacing the pack, and local Olympic sailing hopeful , a Shelter Island native, will also be running the 10K before resuming her goal for gold in August.
