PHOTOS: Southold's Annual Fourth of July Parade

Community braves the heat for July 4th celebration.

Southold was draped in red-white-and-blue with its parade starting at in Southold starting at noon on Wednesday. The Southold Village Merchants once again hosted the traditional Fourth of July parade, which ended at Tuckers Lane.

The threat of rain dissipated and skies became clearer for lots of floats and fun. Take a look back at the day here.

Was a beautiful day and a great turn out for our amazing country! Can someone tell me who the person(s) is/are who organize this event? Thanks!

Besides the incredibly hard working "modern" organizers, I believe it was the founding fathers that made the event possible.

Our son lives in Southold and invited us for our first taste of 4th of July on the North Fork. What a lovely hometown feeling, quite a nice tribute to the community and our country. I cannot get enough of celebrating this great country. Thank you merchants for the great refreshments. We didn't even notice the heat, the spirit was so wonderful. Pat Heimerle
