PHOTOS: Paddle Boarders Learn Their Lesson at New Suffolk Waterfront

A calm and beautiful Sunday morning was the perfect setting for paddle board lessons on Peconic Bay.

Paddle boarders of all ages and skill levels took advantage of the calm and beautiful day on Sunday morning for lessons from instructor Mary Scheerer of Paddle Diva off the in the bay.

Students stood up on their boards paddling past the Galley Ho down to an inlet across from Nassau Point.

“There was a lot of preparation I had no idea about — size of paddle in relation to body, a lesson how to paddleboard, life saving floatation belt,” said Patch photographer Connie Gillies. “We all had a great time.”
