Fireworks Cruise to Benefit Romanelli Hospital Donation, Scholarships

Cross Sound Ferry to raise funds for Eastern Long Island Hospital in the name of John Romanelli and high school scholarships.

For the 23rd year, the will raise money for a local charitable cause during its this coming Saturday aboard the ferry the John H., providing a great view of one of the country’s largest Fourth of July fireworks displays from New London, Conn.

This time, the cruise will benefit bothin Greenport and a high school scholarship fund. The donation to the hospital will be given in the name of , who this past Jan. 3 following a Dec. 30 fire during which he was badly burned at his company, fuel oil service of Southold. The former Councilman is remembered for his philanthropy and caring spirit.

The scholarship fund for the , and will be given to a graduating senior from each school. All proceeds from ticket sales are donated to the designated beneficiaries.

The cruise will depart from the Orient Point ferry terminal at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Orient Point ferry ticket office, the in Orient, branch offices in Cutchogue and Mattituck, and in Greenport.
