Weekend Spotlight: North Fork Ospreys Collegiate Baseball

Catch two home games from the North Fork Ospreys this weekend at Jean W. Cochran Park in Peconic.

Collegiate players of the North Fork Ospreys, one of five teams in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball league, will take on the Sag Harbor Whalers on Friday and the Riverhead Tom Cats on Sunday at Jean W. Cochran Park in Peconic. Both games start at 7 p.m.

NORTH FORK 6, SAG HARBOR 1
Milan Mantle (Walters State CC) shined in his Hamptons debut, throwing seven innings of one-run ball to lead the Ospreys past the host Whalers.

The righthander from British Columbia struck out eight along the way, his only blemish coming in the sixth when Sag Harbor scored on a wild pitch.

The North Fork attack scored a run in every inning but the second, fourth and sixth. Ryan Williams (William and Mary) was the leader of the pack, going 3 for 4 with an RBI, while Chris Hueth (St. Joseph's) went hitless but did drive in a pair of runs.

Adam Brown (Stony Brook) was solid in his return to Sag Harbor. The rising junior gave up three runs over five innings but struck out seven.
