Report: Mattituck Alliance Boys' Soccer Players Are President's League Champs

Young soccer players take it to the top this past Sunday, beating Albany 2 to 1 in President's League tournament in Laurel.

The Mattituck Alliance boys-under-14 travel soccer team won their first victory against a team from Albany this past Sunday, winning 2 to 1 in a President's League tournament on their home turf at in Laurel. The victory makes the young athletes league champs.

Mattituck Alliance is a team formed from players, all under the age of 14, from Mattituck, Southold and Riverhead. The team plays five opponents — none of which are located on Long Island. They travel to Manhattan, Clarkstown, Yorktown, East Fishkill, and Albany in order to compete.

The President's League is the premier league for the Eastern New York Youth Soccer League. North Fork Soccer and Mattituck Soccer Club make up the alliance — a combined non-profit youth soccer organization that welcomes participants ages 4 to19 years for year-round programs. Players ages 10 to 19 make up the travel teams.
