Sunset Sails on Long Island Sound – Great for Adults
Watch the sun set from an 80' Schooner, and enjoy the excitement and wonder of Long Island Sound while learning about the rich diversity of life ath exists beneath the waves. Join in the fun of raising the sails, and take time to examine marine animals; sample and test water quality; learn about hypoxia; examine floatable debris; and discuss actions people can take to reduce impact that humans have on the health of the Sound.
The sails from Greenport are part of an initiative by SoundWaters to increase appreciation and stewardship of Long Island Sound in local communities in New York and Connecticut. They are supported in part by the Long Island Sound Study.
Children must be at least 6 years old.
All sails depart from Mitchell Park and Marina, 115 Front St., Greenport.
