This will be the first annual softball tournament in memory Alex Mele. Most, if not all of you, have never heard the name Alex Mele. But you know him. He was a brother, a son, a friend, a fighter and ball player. He was #25 for his Longwood High School Baseball Team, destined for greatness in the sport. He died on August 9, 2010, of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) long before his destiny could be fulfilled and just 2 weeks shy of his 17th birthday. Alex fought a great fight, and his battle has ended, but the war rages on. With your help we can make sure that no one else has to succumb to this disease. September is Leukemia awareness month.
During the day there will be 3 softball games played with the championship game at the end of the day.
There will be raffles, 50/50, food for sale and a lot of fun to be had.
All proceeds are going directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
