Division IV Playoffs 'Kick Off' This Week

Porters, Bonackers poised to start the playoffs on the road this year.

The Suffolk County Division IV football playoffs are set and some local teams have made it to the dance, while others fell short.

The Greenport/Southold/Mattituck Porters grabbed the No. 7 seed in the division and will be traveling to Mt. Sinai to take on the No. 2 seeded Mustangs. The two teams did not face each other in the regular season. Both teams finished the year at 6-2, albeit differently for the Porters who secured the final win of the season by way of forfeit from Hampton Bays.

Meanwhile the East Hampton Bonackers earned their way into the playoffs at the No. 8 spot, despite going 3-5 on the season. They'll face a tough task as they take on an undefeated Babylon team in Babylon.

Both games will take place on Friday at 6 p.m.

It was an off year for the Southampton and Port Jefferson squads, who failed to make the tournament this year.
