Shopping Locally Is More Important Than Ever

Shop Locally Now More Than Ever

Superstorm Sandy dealt us a major physical blow a few weeks ago, leaving many without power, running water, heat and in some cases a home.

Local small business owners are also feeling the wrath of Sandy. While many hardware stores are seeing an increase in business, many other retailers are feeling the pain – like our shops and restaurants. It’s no secret that business gets a bit slower after the Fall foliage season is over, but it’s almost screeched to a halt over the past few weeks.

Many of these shops and restaurants provide jobs to friends, family and neighbors. They also help to make our neighborhoods look nice and help support local charitable organizations. Investing in our local businesses is an investment in all of us, and the long-term benefits are significant. Plus, if you shop locally, you’ll save gas.

So, please shop (and eat) locally…now more than ever!
