With all districts facing budget constraints, what programs are essential?

It's school budget season, and as districts wrestle with a looming two percent tax cap levy and state mandates, sometimes, cuts must be made.

The 2% limit on tax increases.

Eliminate wage increases for positions eligible for district paid health insurance. Increased cost of medical care is a major part of increases in calculating a "Cost of Living". As these positions are shielded from those costs, their pay should be unchanged.
