Southold Superintendent David Gamberg released a statement on the school's website noting that the "decision to open today did not have any bearing on the change for tomorrow." He attributed the district's decision to a "a new development with the power to part of the campus."

Shelter Island opened its doors Wednesday, thought had to shut down early after power failed at the school. Superintendent Michael Hynes said Shelter Island is open for classes on Thursday.

Heather Wolf, president of the Greenport School Board, noted that Greenport School District will be open as well. Greenport was open on Wednesday.

Oysterponds, according to the Suffolk Times, will remain closed through the rest of the week.

Update, 8 a.m.: Shelter Island Superintendent Michael Hynes said power went out Wednesday morning, and classes will be cancelled.

According to Southold Union Free School District's website, classes are on as scheduled for Wednesday, and one Greenport parent confirmed school is in session in the village.

Classes in Mattituck-Cutchogue School District have been cancelled.

No notifications have been made in other districts as of 2:30 p.m., though emergency shelter operations at all schools which were set up for Monday's storm were ceased as of noon on Tuesday. Classes across the North Fork were cancelled Monday and Tuesday.

Supervisor Scott Russell urged residents to stay off the roads on Tuesday as power and highway crews clear roads and work on utilities.

A coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 3 p.m. Tuesday, and a wind advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m.
