New Peconic School Shares Dinner at Golden Earthworm Organic Farm

Peconic Community School's share-field-to-plate-dinner at Golden Earthworm Organic Farm in Jamesport is a hit.

"Share, A Field to Plate Dinner," was held on Aug. 12 at the Golden Earthworm Organic Farm in Jamesport to support efforts to build the in downtown Riverhead. The educational facility was founded by the non-profit North Fork Education Initiative.

The new Peconic Community School will be based at the East End Arts Council on 141 East Main Street in Riverhead.

The event took place on Aug. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. and featured top local chefs, food, and wine from both the North and South Forks, live music, a farm tour and a live auction.

Chefs onboard include Gregory Ling from  Michael Meehan of H20 in Smithtown and Noah Schwartz of Noah's in Greenport. Dinner was paired with wine by Shinn Estate Vineyards and beer by the Blind Bat Brewery. Other local businesses will also donated to the event.

The is to provide an accessible education to all who are interested; tuition will be scaled to a family's ability to pay. Fundraisers will be held to help further those goals and sustain arts, environment and community-based education.
