Local Hip-Hop Artist to Shoot Video at Greenport School

Rapper Mike Check has a call out for kids ages 3 to 17 to be players for a Sunday morning video shoot.

Local musician wants you to stand up and be in a scene in his video about ditching the nine-to-five and finding your passion.

Check will be at at 10 a.m. on Sunday for a video shoot for his song “Stand Up” — an anthem about realizing what you are really meant to do for a living instead of compromising life for a job you hate.

Check is looking for kids to lip synch these lyrics: “Trying hard to speak and fighting with my weak hand, driven to distraction, so part of the plan." The video shoot comes after the publication of a video of a song about Occupy Wall Street Check posted recently on YouTube. That video has 10,000 hits so far.

“Individually, they'll be reciting the hook of the song in a somber-looking mood,” Check said.
