Greenport, Oysterponds Students Play in Relay Recess

The Early Act clubs from Greenport and Oysterponds elementary schools organized a Relay Recess to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Students from Oysterponds and Greenport elementary schools participated in a joint relay recess to benefit the American Cancer Society on Friday on the football field at Greenport School.

The day started with a parade around the track featuring the entire Greenport Elementary School and Oysterponds students from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. After the parade, the fourth, fifith and sixth grades competed against one another in wacky relay races.

The Early Act clubs at both schools have been raising money to help support the town's Relay for Life event, which will be held on Saturday, June 1 in Peconic.
