Empty Bowls Project Rescheduled At Mattituck High School

The event will take place on March 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Empty Bowls Project, which was cancelled at Mattituck High School due to recent weather, has been rescheduled.

The event will take place in the Mattituck High School cafeteria on March 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The premise behind the Empty Bowls' concept is that participants create ceramic bowls; a simple dinner of soup and bread is planned. Guests are asked to donate a suggested minimum donation of $10.

Students, teachers and community members have been creating ceramic bowls under the direction of Mattituck art teachers. Art Partners will sponsor the soup and bread supper. Proceeds from the Mattituck High School event will benefit Maureen's Haven, a local organization run under the auspices of Peconic Community Council to provide food and shelter at East End houses of worship during the cold winter months.
