Pet of the Week: It's Kitten Time!

The Town of Southold Animal Shelter is filled to the brim with adoptable kittens.

Black ones, grey ones, tabby mixes too -- all this cuteness waits on you.

Yes, it's that time of year again, when animal shelter rooms are bursting at the seams with cute and cuddly kittens -- and the  has many up for adoption. 

"There are kittens everywhere around here," said shelter office manager Gabby Glantzman.

While some of the kittens at the shelter are outgoing, others are still a bit leery around folks and need patience, socializing, and most of all time to get used to their new surroundings.

And of course while these baby felines are adorable and fun, their curiousity and adventurous tendencies usually grow with them -- requiring lots of playtime along with an extremely understanding composure from the pet parent.  But by following some simple tips, not only will you keep kitty happier and safer, but life with can go much smoother for all.
