Longtime Restaurant Space Needs New Owner [Empty on the North Fork]

Former location of steakhouse, seafood joint and Italian eatery is on the market for $1.2 million.

Boats are being pulled this time of year from Port of Egypt Marina on Main Road in Southold, but one commercial space in the area is hoping to lure one customer in.

Most recently the home of JD Steakhouse and for many years prior, the Sea Shell, a vacant restaurant across the street from the marina sits on the market for $1.2 million.

Real estate agent Thomas J. McCarthy says there is "some interest out there now" for the space, which measures 2,200 square feet and holds outdoor seating space as well.

McCarthy said health issues of the family operating JDs led to its closure.

Cimino's Restuarant, an Italian joint, also operated in the space between its incarnations as steakhouse and seafood restaurants.
