Where Are the Worst Potholes On The North Fork?

Snow often creates nasty craters in the roads.

Big and small, deep and shallow — potholes can still cause some serious damage.

After the heavy snow we've had, there seem to be more on the North Fork's roads.

Where are they? Let's get a list going and we'll pass it along to the appropriate officials. Leave a note in the comments below or upload a photo of a pothole you've spotted. You can also e-mail your photos to Erica.Jackon@Patch.com.

As well as the above, people can mark potholes on the map at See Click Fix - http://www.SeeClickFix.com . The community can then vote their priorities to let you know their priorities. I have no connection with the site, only that I think it's a useful FREE resource that is already working well for other communities.

Trustee Phillips just spent $5000 for a "survey" to tell us we in fact have potholes. How many of the bazillion plus potholes we have in the Village could have been filled with that $5000? It's almost like the Mayor and Trustees in Greenport are exempt from paying the taxes that fund these ridiculous wastes of money.

Why don't you just say what is needed and not where a pothole or craters but the whole road everywhere is needed to be paved again . The state and town uses the cheap stuff for our roads ( I got the word from a state employee ) if they would use the good stuff for our roads then they wouldn't have craters anywhere . Then they wouldn't have to fix it as much and the people would be happy. Then again they would be happy ( state and town) too.

Another thing is the large trucks on our roads cause the potholes and craters , detour the large trucks to Sound Ave. like it was years ago, then maybe the town and state could relax.
