Southold Town will host a forum to provide direction for small businesses next week.

Small businesses struggling in an uncertain economic climate can find solutions at a business seminar hosted by Southold Town next week.

The Southold Business Forum will be held on Thursday, June 20, at 6 p.m. at the town's Peconic Lane Community Center, located next to the recreation center on Peconic Lane.

On the agenda are sessions including a talk on Suffolk County's Commercial and Industrial Incentive Program, led by Heather Lanza and Carolyn Fahey.

Meanwhile, Alan Kaplan of Island Group Administration will host a session on the Affordable Care Act & Alternatives for Small Businesses.

Breakout sessions will be held on how to start your own business and also, on business planning and succession planning.

The event is sponsored by the Southold Economic Development Committee.

“The Southold Economic Development Committee continues to engage the local business community in providing meaningful resources," Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell said. "The Southold Business Forum will provide cutting-edge information and resources, in particular with the implementation of the newly adopted Affordable Care Act that will seriously impact small businesses. In addition, the forum will provide timely information of Suffolk County’s soon to be adopted New Strategic Industries Property Tax Abatement Plan to benefit economic development for local businesses.”
