Town Asks Residents How to Spend $98K in Grant Funding

What projects would you like to see kick off?

Southold Town is asking residents to weigh in on a hefty grant coming down the pike.

In April, 2014, Southold expects to receive $98,385 in federal community development bloc grant funds. 

The monies are slated to be used for a variety of projects to be selected by local officials.

Eligible uses include: Acquisition and demolition of blighted property; housing rehabilitation; elimination of physical barriers for the handicapped; public facilities and improvements, street reconstruction; public water projects, economic development and public services, total allotment limited to 15 percent.

Residents will be able to express their views at a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 4:35 p.m. at Southold Town Hall.
