Stop Sign Proposed for Bayview Road and Baywater Avenue

A public hearing will be held on the subject on March 12.

With an eye toward public safety, the Southold town board will consider a local law that would green light a stop sign at the intersection of Bayview Road and Baywater Avenue in Southold.

Currently, there is a yield sign at the intersection, which is located near the Southold Fire Department substation.

A public hearing on the matter will be held at a town board meeting on March 12, which begins at 7 p.m.

The existing yield sign, which is located on Baywater Avenue heading east at the intersection with Bayview Road, would be replaced with a stop sign.

Do you think the intersection at Bayview Road and Main Bayview in Southold is unsafe? Do you believe a stop sign would help improve public safety? Let us know in the comments section.
