Remember: Greenport Library Budget Vote Happens Tuesday

Registered voters in Greenport, East Marion, and Orient have opportunity to vote on Floyd Memorial Library tax appropriation.

Floyd Memorial Library board members are asking registered voters in the Greenport and Oysterponds School Districts to approve a $955,457 budget for 2013, an increase over the 2012 budget of $954,649, on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the library’s lower level.

According to the library’s newsletter, the 2013 budget includes $924,798 to be raised from taxes, and an additional $30,659 from other sources, such as fees, gifts, interest, and the library fund balance. The tax increase is less than $1 per thousand of assessed valuation, which comes to an increase of less than $6 a year for the average homeowner.

See attached PDF for details on the proposed 2013 budget for Floyd Memorial Library.
