POLL: Who is Your Candidate for Southold Town Justice?

Now that we have their stories, we want to know who you will vote for on Nov. 8.

For the first time in 12 years, Republican incumbent Rudy Bruer is being challenged for the seat for Southold Town Justice.

Though Southold attorney , a Republican r, recently he said he believes he is the most qualified candidate for the position with 25 years of trial and litigation work in courthouses in New York City and all over Long Island under his belt — and not one case overturned. Hughes said he also would like to see the creation of a night court and a heightened security system at the local justice court.

said that he hopes the primary results speak for themselves. Though the court system might have grown busier over the years, he said he still takes what can be a 24-hour job very seriously and continues to look at each case individually with an open mind — because he often times sees people in the community in some of their hardest moments.
