Photos and Video: Doherty and Southold Incumbents Are Sworn In

Judge Price swears in Southold Town Elected Officials Tuesday morning.

Now that the new year is upon us, Southold Town incumbents and one new Town Board Member elected last November are now officially on the job. 

On Tuesday, Southold Town Justice William Price conducted the swearing in ceremony of former to Southold Town Council and the following incumbent officials, all members of the : Supervisor Scott Russell, Councilman William Ruland, Trustee James King, Justice Rudolph Bruer, Town Assessor Darline Duffy, and Tax Receiver George Sullivan — who was challenged during election season by Democrat Bill Edwards,Doherty took the place of on the board.

"It's humbling to say the least," said Russell after the proceedings. "This board has worked very hard to make a difference in lives of people in this community every day."

Other change ups during the 2012 organizational meeting included the appointment of Councilman Al Krupski to Deputy Supervisor, with former Deputy Supervisor Phillip Beltz staying on as executive assistant to the supervisor and the board, and the appointment of Don Wilcenski to chairperson of the Planning Board. Wilcenski will replace Martin Sidor as chair.
