Four M1117 Guardian Armored Security Vehicles were spotted Friday morning driving down Love Lane in Mattituck. This picture was taken by Casey Ciamaricone of Mattituck. Another Patch reader said she saw the vehicles driving through Southold on Friday as well.
Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell told the Suffolk Times that he saw the tanks first-hand at that local police were investigating. Meanwhile, a representative from U.S. Rep. Tim Bishop's office said the congressman had no idea why the vehicles were driving across the North Fork, according to the report.
News 12 is reporting that the vehicles were part of a military funeral service.
