New York's 1st Assembly District covers several communities in the Town of Brookhaven, including Miller Place, Sound Beach, Rocky Point and Shoreham, as well as all communities in the Towns of Southold and Riverhead on the North Fork. Due to recent redistricting, Shelter Island is no longer in this district.
