Horton Challenges Nyce for Greenport Mayor Seat

Former Town Supervisor and manager of Southold's Corcoran Real Estate Group announces his candidacy for Greenport Village Mayor this week.

, who served as Supervisor before current Supervisor , will run against incumbent for the next four-year term as village mayor

Horton announced his decision on Tuesday, just when it seemed that Nyce would run unopposed.

"Seems a little last-minute, but I welcome the competition," Nyce said on Friday.

Horton, who is also a manager at and plays regularly in a , was unavailable for comment at presstime. Horton's great grandfather led the effort to incorporate Greenport Village in 1838 and served as its first mayor.
