Don't Miss: Southold Supervisor Presents Information Session on Proposed Budget

The public is encouraged to attend and ask questions.

Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell will host an information session Monday on a 2014 town budget that proposes a 1.17 percent tax increase.

Russell and Town Comptroller John Cushman will be onhand for the session, which will take place Monday at 6 p.m. at the Peconic Lane Community Center; the two will discuss the proposed budget as well as the budgeting process.

The educational meeting is expected to focus on the content of the proposed budget, anticipated revenues and expenditures, as well as the proposed tax increase. The goal is to inform the public about how the budget is developed, as well as about historical policies related to the town's fund balance.

A public hearing will be held on November 6 at 7 p.m.

The public will be able to ask questions and make comments at the meeting.
