Bruer Up By 80 Percent Over Hughes in Southold Town Judiciary Primary

Preliminary numbers show a big win for incumbent Southold Town Justice Rudolph Bruer.

Southold Town Judge Rudolph Bruer has a big lead over challenger Brian Hughes in preliminary results of the judiciary primary race to see who will be on the Conservative/Independence party ballot in November for Southold Town Justice

Southold GOP Chairman Denis Noncarrow reported that, after a delay due to a computer glitch that shut down online tallying on the Suffolk County's Board of Elections' website after polls closed Tuesday night, the Conservative line has Bruer up 114-23 (83 percent), and the Independence party members favored the incumbent 74-18 (80 percent).

These are unofficial results as absentee ballots still need to be counted. The results section of the Board of Elections' website is still shut down as of 4 p.m. Wednesday.
