Supervisor Declares State of Emergency In Southold

Residents are asked to stay off the roads.

Supervisor Scott Russell declared a state of emergency for Southold Town on Friday at 6:00 p.m. due to the fierce winter blizzard blanketing the area.

The state of emergency is meant to remind residents that emergency vehicles should be the only vehicles on town roadways; driving is extremely dangerous.

According to Russell, there are downed wires and localized power outages throughout town.
